Early-Stage Anesthesia Scholars (eSAS) is a nascent community led by trainees, for trainees. eSAS serves the interests of early-career anesthesiologist scientists, providing an academic home for developing scholars in anesthesiology.
Their objectives include:
- Fostering peer and senior mentorship, in both career and scientific topics
- Supporting the needs and interests of young professionals interested in academic careers in anesthesiology
- Enhancing peer networking and collaborative opportunities and encouraging the sharing of enthusiasm and ideas among its members
- Developing and implementing strategies – at an institutional, regional, national or international level – that support retention of anesthesiologist-scientists in a research-oriented career track and reduce the attrition of motivated scholars at all career stages.
Check out the Early-Stage Anesthesia Scholars website to learn more about the resources and support they provide.
Dr. Keith Vogt, a faculty member in our department, served on the eSAS Executive Council and may be contacted with questions about the organization.
