We have three programs in the faculty mentoring program:
- Peer to Peer clinical faculty mentoring
- New faculty onboarding program
- Peer to Peer research faculty mentoring
We have two programs in the nurse anesthesia mentoring program:
- CRNA / CRNA Peer to Peer
- UPP CRNA / Pitt SRNA
The CRNA - CRNA Peer Mentorship Program is a structured initiative designed to foster professional growth and development. This program pairs experienced CRNAs with their less experienced colleagues, creating a supportive environment for sharing knowledge, skills, and insights. Mentors provide guidance on clinical practice, career advancement, and personal development, helping mentees navigate the complexities of their roles. Through collaborative relationships, this program aims to enhance clinical competencies, boost confidence, and promote a culture of continuous learning and excellence within the CRNA community.
The UPP CRNA - Pitt SRNA Mentorship Program is designed to foster professional growth, development, and collaboration within our organization. It provides a structured framework for experienced CRNAs to share their knowledge, insights, and guidance with SRNAs seeking to enhance their skills and navigate their career path more effectively. It is also an opportunity to socialize SRNAs into the Nurse Anesthesia profession and UPMC culture.
Both programs are administered through MentorcliQ, and participants can sign up online.
This program is designed to coordinate a professional relationship between a faculty advisor and their resident advisee. Mentorship plays a crucial role in the professional development of anesthesiology residents, providing guidance, support, and career planning throughout their training. Experienced mentors offer insights into clinical expert roles, work-life balance, and exam preparation, enhancing residents’ confidence and productivity. Mentorship programs, integrated into postgraduate training, contribute to successful career preparation and overall well-being. Residents and faculty advisors can sign up through MentorcliQ.
This program targets emerging leaders among employees of color from UPMC Presbyterian and UPMC Shadyside hospitals. The program is dedicated to empowering employees of color through a one-on-one mentorship program that will foster positive relationships in which mentors empower mentees and accelerate the mentees' personal and professional development.
