Our Obstetric Anesthesiology fellows undergo rigorous training in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) for the obstetric patient. In close partnership with our department's Perioperative Echocardiography service, our fellows follow a graduated curriculum that consists of: 1) self-paced digital learning modules, 2) simulation, 3) practical bedside experience with our perioperative ultra-sonographers, and 4) practical experience with proctored learning and virtual case logs. By the end of the clinical year, satisfactory completion of all steps results in certification for POCUS.
