Carol E. Rose, MD, was elected Chair of the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine in 2010, the culmination of a distinguished career in anesthesiology and organized medicine.

About the Department

We are one of the largest anesthesiology departments in the nation with a long legacy of excellence in research, clinical care, and academics. Our department manages approximately 300,000 cases annually, covering an average of over 200 anesthetizing sites per day at over 20 hospitals and surgery centers. We host two residency programs, 10 clinical subspecialty fellowship training programs, and two NIH T32 research training programs.
