As part of National CRNA Week 2025, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) from UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh (CHP) planned to extend their compassion beyond the operating room by hosting a Valentine’s Day breakfast for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House Pittsburgh. The event, organized by Salina Torgerson, DNP, CRNA, took place on Saturday, February 15, and featured a warm and welcoming meal prepared and served by CHP CRNAs.

Located adjacent to CHP in the Plaza Building, Ronald McDonald House Pittsburgh is one of 360 Ronald McDonald Houses worldwide and the only one directly connected to a hospital. The organization offers families of seriously ill children a comforting place to stay at little or no cost close to their loved ones receiving medical care.

By hosting events like this, our CRNAs demonstrate their commitment to not only clinical excellence but also to nurturing the well-being of our community. Their efforts exemplify the spirit of National CRNA Week, celebrating both professional dedication and compassionate care.
