Dr. Subramanian’s degree work was marked by a profound focus on cutting-edge topics within the field, including the implementation of advanced data structures, computer programming, machine learning, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, gene sequencing principles, and electronic health record maintenance.

Theresa A. Gelzinis, MD, has been appointed to serve as Co-Chair of the Normothermic Regional Perfusion Task Force of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation.

Dr. La Colla’s degree work focused on data science, which provides tools to analyze, extract, and present data to the health care community to help health care organizations make well-informed, data-driven decisions.

The event will be held as a full in-person meeting from November 9 -11, 2023 in Seoul, Korea.  

Theresa A. Gelzinis, MD, presented the lecture “Highlights in Thoracic Anesthesia.” Some of these highlights were recently published in the Journal of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia.

Michael L. Boisen, MD, FASE, and Murat Kaynar, MD, MPH, were both elected to office in the Association of Anesthesiology Subspecialty Program Directors.

This multidisciplinary committee comprises blood bank professionals, quality improvement specialists, and physician stakeholders representing the hospital’s Transfusion Medicine, Anesthesiology, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, and Hematology Services.

In Dr. Abuelkasem’ s new role, he will oversee our Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Division’s missions of education of our residents and faculty in basic TEE and point of care ultrasound and our adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellows in advanced TEE, as well as conduct of Echocardiography Interdisciplinary Education Meetings, educational research related to perioperative echocardiography, and...
