The Vanish Biodegradable Stimulator team led by Trent D. Emerick, MD, MBA, was awarded $75,000 to continue the project from The University of Pittsburgh Chancellor’s Gap Fund. This funding marks the project’s third award over the last three months; in May the project won $50,000 in the Virginia Kaufman Pain Research Challenge and in June the team finished in second place and won $35,000 in services in the LifeX Labs/Pittsburgh Life Sciences Greenhouse-sponsored Life Sciences Accelerator business pitch competition.
