On February 5th, Rachel Bekavac, MSN, CRNA, and Rama Joshi, MBBS, MPM, provided anesthesia services with a select group of cardiac surgery specialists in a Virtual TAVI (transcatheter aortic valve implantation) Symposium co-hosted by UPMC and CRT (Cardiovascular Research Technologies). During the symposium, the team performed a TAVI that was broadcast live to an international audience and discussion panel. Rachel, Dr. Joshi, and the staff at UPMC Shadyside were chosen to represent the site as service line experts in this complex procedure.
