Our Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) at UPMC Presbyterian are demonstrating their commitment to serving not only their patients but also the local community through two recent philanthropic initiatives.

From July 15 to August 11, 2024, the CRNAs participated in the “Protect PT and Pittsburgh Area Community Schools Back to School Donation Drive” to support students in the East Allegheny School District. The drive collected new and gently used clothing and sneakers for children in grades K-6, as well as essential toiletry items. Thanks to the generosity of the community and the dedication of the CRNAs, a substantial amount of clothing, shoes, and toiletries were donated to help students prepare for their return to school.

In addition to the donation drive, the CRNAs hosted a lemonade stand on August 11, 2024, with all proceeds benefiting two charitable organizations—Make-A-Wish and 412 Gives Back. Alongside their children, the CRNAs contributed baked goods and friendship bracelets to sell at the stand. Their collective efforts raised over $550, which was equally split between the two causes, supporting children facing critical illnesses and providing aid to underserved communities.

Through these efforts, our UPMC Presbyterian CRNAs continue to embody the values of compassion, leadership, and community involvement both within and outside the hospital.
