On April 15, 2019, our Acute Interventional Perioperative Pain & Regional Anesthesiology Service (AIPPS) expanded coverage to a fifth hospital site, UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital.
The AIPPS manages perioperative surgical pain, enhances the surgical patient experience, and uses up-to-date multimodal and regional anesthesia to decrease overall opioid consumption, working with surgeons and administrators to make the service a success.
The AIPPS team is directed by Charles B. Luke, MD, MBA, FASAM and the new Magee AIPPS site is directed by Nicholas J. Schott, MD. The Magee AIPPS Physician team comprises Drs. Schott, Luke, Doug Bentley, and Ivan Colaizzi.
