On July 1, Franklyn P. Cladis, MD, MBA, will assume the role of our new Chief of Anesthesiology at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh (CHP) as Peter J. Davis, MD, steps down from the CHP Chief position to focus on new roles within the department and UPMC.
Dr. Cladis’ promotion to Chief Anesthesiologist at CHP comes after his outstanding service as Assistant Site Chief at CHP over the past year and a half and in other leadership roles at Children’s, including Program Director of our Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship and Clinical Director of Perioperative Medicine. In his new role as Chief Anesthesiologist at CHP, Dr. Cladis will lead and manage all clinical anesthesiology and perioperative care operations at CHP, including staffing and OR management, budget and revenue cycle management, resident and fellow training, hospital peer review and credentialing, quality, communications, and faculty affairs. He will also serve on several key CHP leadership committees such as the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff and the CHP Joint Conference Committee.
