The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) has extended an invitation to Theresa A. Gelzinis, MD, to serve as Vice Chair of the 2025 ASA Committee on Transplant Anesthesia. This prestigious one-year appointment will commence at the conclusion of the current governance year, following the second session of the ASA House of Delegates on October 23, 2024, and will conclude on October 15, 2025.
As Vice Chair, Dr. Gelzinis will assist the Committee Chair in steering the committee towards achieving ASA’s strategic objectives. She will ensure that the committee fulfills its duties as outlined in the Administrative Procedures and addresses any specific directives from the ASA Board of Directors or ASA House of Delegates. Her responsibilities as an ASA committee Vice Chair will include the key areas of developing potential future leaders; upholding and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion; communication with ASA officers, staff, and section chairs; and developing Board and House reports.
