Congratulations to Michael W. Best, MD, Maj, USAFR, UPMC Mercy, who was honored with the May 2021 Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) Everyday Hero award. The PAMED Everyday Hero Award program honors member physicians who go above and beyond in providing patient care.
Dr. Best has been a PAMED member for 12 years. He has been active in PAMED’s Early Career Physicians Section, PAMED’s House of Delegates, and previously on PAMED’s Board of Trustees as the Residents and Fellows Section Trustee, as well as the Fourth District Trustee. He has also been active in the American Medical Association Delegation, volunteers as part of the National Guard, and volunteers to administer vaccines. Dr. Best was nominated for this award by John Pagan, MD, PAMED Speaker of the House of Delegates, for being thorough, thoughtful, caring, bright, and an asset to the health care community.
