Congratulations to Kimberly Cantees, MD, MBA, who has been appointed to the leadership position of Clinical Director of the UPMC Presbyterian Operating Rooms effective March 1, 2020. In this role, Dr. Cantees will provide leadership in operating room (OR) management for our perioperative sites, which includes the ORs, non-OR anesthetizing locations, same day services, and the post-anesthesia care units across UPMC Presbyterian and Montefiore. She will work with all perioperative leaders and hospital operations teams to drive OR efficiency by supporting important operational metrics. She will also serve as the primary liaison consultant anesthesiologist to any surgical or medical service requesting consultation or services in the ORs. She will be a key conduit between daily operational needs and innovations in perioperative medicine/perioperative healthcare delivery and will also serve on various department leadership committees that will achieve transformational change for our patients, physicians, trainees, and staff.
