Erin A. Sullivan, MD, D.ABA, FASA, has been invited by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) to serve a two-year term as a member of their New Examiner Selection and Training (NEST) group. NEST comprises former examiners who review new APPLIED examiner applications and serve as onsite mentors to new examiners during one week of APPLIED exams. Her term will begin on September 1, 2024, and end on August 31, 2026.
The ABA examines and certifies physicians who complete an accredited program of anesthesiology training in the United States, with a mission to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. Anesthesiologists earn their ABA certification through a series of rigorous exams. The APPLIED exam is the third step in the certification process.
Dr. Sullivan has a distinguished history of mentorship with the ABA. She has served as a question writer for the ABA-American Society of Anesthesiologists Joint Council on In-Training Examinations and as a Full Examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology APPLIED Exam. She will continue in her role as a Senior Editor for the ABA Structured Oral Examination Writing Committee.
Congratulations, Dr. Sullivan!
