Congratulations to Cynthia M. Wells, MD, who was selected as a 2018 winner of UPMC’s Award for Commitment and Excellence in Service (ACES). ACES honors staff who exemplify UPMC’s five core values — Quality & Safety, Dignity & Respect, Caring & Listening, Responsibility & Integrity, and Excellence & Innovation. Each year, fewer than one percent of UPMC staff from across the health system receive this honor.
Those who nominated Dr. Wells for this prestigious award cited her instrumental role in the integration and regionalization of anesthesia services between UPMC, UPMC Horizon, and UPMC Jameson and her leadership as a member of the UPMC Horizon/Jameson Surgical Services Oversight Committee, where she has contributed to improved OR efficiency, improved collaboration among departments, and various cost saving initiatives. She is praised for serving as a role model and a true serving leader.
Dr. Wells and our other ACES winners Christine King (CRNA, UPMC East) and Kim Wysocki (CRNA, UPMC Presbyterian), will be recognized at the ACES Recognition Dinner on November 3, 2018 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
