Annalisa Baratta Receives NIH F31 Fellowship Award

Congratulations to Annalisa Baratta from the lab of Gregg E. Homanics, PhD, and co-mentored by Sean P. Farris, PhD, who received an F31 predoctoral fellowship award from the National Institutes of Health/National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism for her project “The Role of lncRNA MALAT1 in Controlling Behavior and Neuroinflammation in Alcohol Use Disorder.” In her funded project, Annalisa will observe the effect of altering Malat1 expression on neuroinflammation and ethanol consumption using a combination of in vitro and in vivo techniques. The goal of her project is to understand the potential role Malat1 plays in influencing Alcohol Use Disorder, as well as comorbid disorders such as chronic pain.
