When families fall below the poverty line, federal assistance doesn’t cover many personal care items. This places students in the difficult situation of having to go to school when they can’t maintain a basic level of cleanliness. Our CRNAs at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital contributed money and personal care items to help with this issue. For a volunteer project initiated by Jessica Griffin MSN, CRNA, the group donated approximately $100 worth of personal care items in one week to the medical relief and development organization Global Links. The donated items will go to local schools.
