Dr. Daniel Sabo Appointed Clinical Director of Anesthesiology at UPMC Shadyside

We’re pleased to announce that Daniel Sabo, MD, has been appointed Clinical Director of Anesthesiology at UPMC Shadyside, effective January 1, 2021.

Dan earned his both his BS and MD from the University of Pittsburgh and completed his anesthesiology residency at UPMC. He is currently a Clinical Associate Professor in our department and serves as Director of Anesthesiology Residents and Director of the Medical Resident Clinical Skills Rotation at UPMC Shadyside, as well as a member of our Resident Education Curriculum Committee and a yearly mentor and one-on-one clinical teacher for the Introductory Program for our new residents. Dan has been serving in the role of assistant chief of anesthesiology at Shadyside since July 2018. He is also a member of the Shadyside Professional Practice Council, the Department’s Faculty Professional Practice Review Committee and the Affiliated Faculty Promotions and Appointments committee.

As Clinical Director of Anesthesia for UPMC Shadyside, Dr. Sabo will coordinate anesthesia services hospital-wide, manage the daily OR schedule, serve as a Department clinical liaison, and take on significant clinical OR responsibilities. His tasks will include assisting with defining the scope of anesthesiology practice at the hospital.
