Daniel Edward Mikuta, a former CRNA at UPMC Presbyterian, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 65 on Friday March 22, 2019 at his home in Pittsburgh.
Dan earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in biology at Clarion University and graduated from Washington Hospital School of Nursing. He later continued his education at Washington Hospital School of Anesthesia, becoming a licensed Nurse Anesthetist. He worked for many years as a CRNA at Forbes Regional Hospital and later UPMC Presbyterian. He also worked for over a year at UPMC ISMETT in Palermo, Sicily, contributing significantly to the success of the transplant center when it was first established there.
