Grace Lim, MD, MS, was part of a multidisciplinary international working group that authored clinical practice guidelines on postdural puncture headache that were concurrently published in the journals Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine (RAPM) and JAMA Open. The articles represent a stupendous effort across several professional societies that transcend the disciplines of obstetric and general anesthesiology, pain medicine, neurology, and radiology.
These guidelines apply and can provide necessary education to all patient care teams, including, but not limited to, members of the anesthesiology, emergency medicine, neurology, chronic pain and any other medical specialties performing procedures that either risk dural puncture or intentionally breach the dura.
